EA/ED 只是序曲，接下來的 RD 才是真正的決戰場

隨著早申請（ED/REA）放榜告一段落，今年的申請季正式完成了第一階段。
首先，想對所有順利拿到 Offer 的孩子說聲恭喜。這不是運氣，這是你們過去四年來在 GPA、SAT、研究、活動上咬牙堅持的成果；同時，也要深深感謝每一位家長這段日子的信任與陪伴，你們辛苦了。
對於暫時沒有收到錄取，或是收到 Defer的孩子們，Keep you head up! 別灰心，更別否定自己，申請之路其實才剛走了 10%，眼前的 EA/ED 只是序曲，接下來的 RD 才是真正的決戰場。
聖經Proverbs 16:9 "The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps" 雖然我們沒有特定的信仰，但我也相信在你們那麼努力後，一定能獲得最適合的學校認可的！
在這個準備 RD 的關鍵時刻，希望孩子與家長們，到 A. LEAGUE 的 IG 或 FB 版面上，花點時間去細讀我們發布的每一封完整錄取信，因為你會發現：
1. 這裡面有大學「真正想要」的答案
別只看 Logo，去讀信裡的文字，招生官在信中具體稱讚了學生的哪些特質？是對學術的熱情，還是對社群的貢獻？這些清晰的文字，都是最珍貴的情報，能幫你在 RD 的文書中找到更貼合的方向。
2. 給孩子們「夢想能夠成真」的信心

課業與活動的黃金比例｜活動能加分，但穩定的學業表現是根本

在A. League的升學輔導經驗中，我們常聽到學生說：「我最近要參加籃球比賽、社團練習、國際競賽，所以暫時沒時間顧學校成績。」
這樣的積極態度固然值得肯定，但如果在參加活動的同時犧牲了GPA，那可能就成了白忙一場。大學在審查申請時更重視的是學生「是否能有效利用時間」，在課業與活動之間維持穩定與平衡。
課業穩定是基礎，活動表現是延伸，嘗試著把每一個環節都照顧好，且找到最合適的平衡點。倘若學生的課業表現因外務而受影響，代表該活動目前還不是時候，或需要調整時間規劃。
就像選修AP課程或IB Higher Level一樣，如果勉強選修了過難的課程，最後卻只拿到B或C，那不正是在向大學傳達：「我無法應付高難度課程」的訊息嗎？
課業與活動的平衡，比單純累積經驗更能展現成熟度與自律性。

即使是世界級運動員，也從未忽視學業。以多年以前的谷愛凌選手為例，她不僅在賽場上摘下金牌，SAT幾乎滿分，GPA更是接近完美。
A. League所輔導過的國家級運動選手在與前二、三十名大學接洽時，學校都會明確要求其SAT、AP或GPA達標。換句話說，即使天賦異稟，也不能忽視學業的要求。
同樣地，能在奧林匹亞競賽中獲獎的學生們，那些能在國際舞臺上發光發熱的孩子，他們的學校成績幾乎都是全A。
既然連世界級的選手都維持高學業水準，那我們參與一般活動的學生，又怎能因為一項活動就犧牲了自己的GPA呢？要知道，一旦成績單印出，就沒有改動或「重新努力」的機會了。
當然，對於GPA尚有進步空間的學生而言，參與有意義的活動確實能補足申請履歷，提升整體競爭力。但若因成績不理想而盲目增加活動量，導致學業進一步下滑，那麼再多活動都難以真正加分。
正確的做法應該是：看到自己在學習上還有進步空間，就先努力補足，同時再透過活動、比賽、履歷提升等方式，讓整體申請更加分。這樣的策略才能真正有效。
先補足學習基礎，再透過活動拓展深度。唯有在穩固的GPA之上，課外經驗才能成為亮點，而非負擔。
A. League 一再強調，美國大學採行的 Holistic Review（整體審查制），強調的是全面均衡的發展。大學評估申請人時，會綜合考量課業表現、課外活動、領導力與個人潛能。
若某一領域稍弱，其他面向仍能補足；但若只專注於單一項目，即使投入大量時間與金錢，也容易陷入「蠟燭兩頭燒」的狀況。與其如此，不如先鞏固學業，再逐步擴充活動版圖。
總結來說，GPA是學生最基本的「本業」
在顧好成績的前提下，再去拓展活動、比賽或履歷，才能真正展現你的潛力與時間管理能力。
千萬不要讓任何一項活動拖垮學業，否則就功虧一簣。

A. LEAGUE 堅持顧問專業修改，禁用生成式 AI 撰寫作文

近期，我們注意到越來越多學生與家長對於人工智慧工具在申請大學過程中扮演的角色感到困惑，特此聲明：
A. LEAGUE 絕不使用 ChatGPT 或任何生成式 AI (Generative AI) 工具幫學生撰寫或修改申請作文。
這不僅是我們對學生誠信的實現，更是因為 A. LEAGUE 是經過美國大學招生諮詢協會（NACAC）認證的專業機構，而根據 NACAC 的倫理規範，顧問機構和學校老師不得為學生撰寫申請文件，也不得使用非學生本人產出的內容作為申請材料。因此，學生的每一篇作文都必須親自撰寫，顧問僅能給予結構與內容建議，並透過人工進行輔導與潤飾。
我們鼓勵學生善用 AI 工具進行資料搜尋、背景研究與主題探索，但也嚴格禁止將完整作文、草稿或翻譯內容輸入 AI 工具進行修改或撰寫。一旦學生將自己的作文上傳至 AI 平台，該作品即可能不再被視為原創，更可能面臨「資料外洩」的風險，一些大學甚至會依此質疑學生的誠信與申請資格。
A. LEAGUE 的每一篇作文修改，皆由具備文學背景、教育專業與多年經驗的文學顧問（或學生習慣稱我們為作文老師）親自審閱與修訂，並保留每一階段的人工修改紀錄於學生系統。一旦遇到大學質疑某篇作文是否由學生獨立撰寫，我們能立即提供完整的修改歷程與版本證明，保障學生的權益。
學生有時會困惑，為何明明從頭到尾都自己寫的，但無論是AI工具、反AI工具、AI偵測工具，卻都指出文章含有「AI 成分」，其實常見的原因有三種：
學生使用 AI 工具或免付費 AI 偵測工具，資訊來源紊亂或可能有錯誤，也因此每個系統都會提出免責聲明，如下圖

學生曾將作文草稿上傳至 AI 工具取得回饋或文法修正，而此文章已被記錄於 AI 系統中，由於各大系統皆會使用用戶提供的資訊，如下圖，學生上傳過的任何內容，都有可能變成 AI 工具提供給其他用戶反饋的訓練材料

學生自己寫的段落與老師建議改寫的風格不一致，導致文章語感出現「兩種聲音」，進而讓 AI 偵測系統認為是有修改。這就是為什麼我們在草稿初期僅提供逐句留言和整體反饋，而非大幅度改寫，並且會保留每一個修改紀錄，以便隨時能提供給大學檢驗
我們的堅持，確實也遇過挑戰，有些家長會問：「孩子英文程度不夠優秀，顧問可以直接幫學生寫嗎？」也有學生會說：「為什麼不直接幫我改掉，還要我自己依照建議去修改？」
在大型語言模型成為日常工具的時代，Pages 點滑鼠右鍵就可以有 Apple Intelligence 搭配 ChatGPT，Google Doc 內建 Gemini，Microsoft Word 除了 Copilot 還可以外掛 Grammarly AI，人工智慧唾手可得，因此漂亮的單字和精闢的文法早已不是申請作文的重點，具有生命的故事內容才是，對大學來說，顧問代寫或 AI 撰寫，都無法真實反映出學生的經歷，亦不是誠實的學術表現，Duke University 杜克大學甚至因此改變審核政策，取消作文評分項目，而我們也在去年發表過 Yale University 耶魯大學招生官對 ChatGPT 生成作文的看法，並一再和學生強調，勿使用。
△ A. LEAGUE 不斷提醒學生AI工具應用於申請大學作文的政策
在升學這條路上，除了學生、家長、顧問之外，學校老師亦是非常重要的角色，多數輔導老師也盡可能地為學生著想、幫助學生，但也強烈建議學生與家長要求學校，請老師避免在未取得學生同意的情況下，將學生的作文放到免費 AI 偵測軟體「檢查」，因為這相當於把文章送給了 AI 資料庫。
我們懇請 A. LEAGUE 的學生遵守作文不委託 AI 撰寫或修飾的規範，若學生私下使用 AI 協助撰寫，將可能面臨申請被駁回甚至取消錄取的風險，過去曾有實例發生，學生在未與顧問溝通的情況下，刪除原先顧問團隊修改過的作文，並自行上傳 AI 作文至申請系統後直接提交給大學，最終申請被撤銷，相當可惜。
總而言之，A. LEAGUE 堅持三項作文原則：
1. 學生必須親自撰寫所有申請作文
2. 請勿將整篇草稿上傳至 AI 工具進行修改、翻譯或優化
3. 所有作文皆由具備專業背景的老師進行人工修改，並保留修稿紀錄
這不僅是對升學道德的堅持，更是對學生未來負責的態度，感謝各位家長與學生的理解與支持。

了解運動員招生：什麼是運動員招生？它是如何運作的？
對許多學生運動員來說，進入大學的旅程不僅僅是學業表現。運動員招生（Athletic Recruitment）提供了一條特殊的入學途徑，不僅能幫助學生獲得錄取，還有機會獲得獎學金，甚至在大學階段繼續發展自己的運動能力。但究竟什麼是運動員招生？它與一般的申請方式有何不同呢？
什麼是運動員招生？
運動員招生是大學教練主動尋找優秀運動員加入學校運動隊伍的過程，這通常發生在美國的大學體育聯盟，例如NCAA（全美大學體育協會）的一級、二級和三級學校，或者NAIA（全國大學體育協會）等組織，這些學校可能會提供運動獎學金或其他形式的支持，來吸引優秀的運動員。
與普通的入學申請不同，運動員招生更關注學生的運動表現、發展潛力，以及是否符合球隊的需求，而非單純評估學術成績和課外活動。
運動員招生是如何運作的？
教練聯繫運動員
招生過程通常由教練主動聯繫學生開始，這可能發生在比賽、訓練營、或選拔賽之後，當教練發現某位運動員表現突出時，他們可能會聯繫該學生，表達對他的興趣。當然，運動員自己也可以主動聯繫教練，提供個人運動履歷、比賽影片等資料，以增加被發掘的機會。
評估與選拔
一旦教練對某位運動員產生興趣，可能會邀請該學生參觀學校，與教練團隊見面，並深入了解校園環境和球隊文化。在這個階段，教練不僅評估運動員的技術水平，也會考量個性、態度、團隊合作能力，甚至學業表現。某些學校還會讓運動員透過提早錄取（Early Decision）或提早行動（Early Action）的方式申請，以確保球員能加入校隊。
獎學金與承諾
如果教練對運動員非常滿意，可能會提出全額或部分獎學金，或直接提供球隊的一個名額。學生通常需要在一定期限內回應是否接受這個機會，這也可能會影響他們的申請策略。
簽署全國意向書（NLI）
被錄取的學生運動員可能會被要求簽署全國意向書（National Letter of Intent, NLI），這是一份具有約束力的協議，確保學生在該學校就讀至少一年。這樣可以保障學校與運動員雙方的承諾，防止學生後續更改決定。

想參與運動員招生的學生該怎麼準備？
提早開始準備
許多教練會提前幾年就開始尋找運動員，因此越早準備，機會越大！應該積極參加具有積分的全國性或國際比賽，累積經驗，並主動研究可能感興趣的學校和校隊。
保持良好的學業成績
雖然運動能力很重要，但學業仍然是大學錄取的一部分。有些學校對運動員的學術要求可能較低，但維持一定的GPA和考試成績，仍然可以增加被錄取的機會。
準備高品質的比賽影片
教練無法親自觀看每場比賽，因此準備一個精彩的比賽影片（Highlight Reel）是讓自己脫穎而出的關鍵。影片應該清晰、簡潔，展示最佳表現。
主動聯繫教練
從進入11年級開始，可以主動向有興趣的學校教練發送電子郵件，附上個人運動履歷、比賽影片、成績單等資料，展現自己對該校的興趣。
了解自己是否適合這條路
被招募進大學球隊不只是進入大學的一種方式，它也意味著要投入大量時間訓練、比賽，甚至犧牲部分自由時間。如果不確定自己是否能夠兼顧學業與運動，可以和教練、家人、學校顧問討論，確認這是否是最適合自己的選擇。
